Following the news that the Image is Everything Ltd has gone into insolvency proceedings, Bradwell Silver Band is hoping that the spirit of Christmas will enable them to see at least some part of the £5,550 deposit they paid to the company be returned to them.
Fund raising
Secretary Robin Allen told 4BR: "We have been running for over 100-years offering brass music to the people of Milton Keynes, and in the past year have been fundraising for a new of new jackets to ensure the band can uphold its tradition of formal concerts and performances.
However, last week we were informed that the company had closed their doors. We had paid 70% deposit but now we join a long list of creditors in the hope our £5,550 can be returned."
Real shock
He added: "This is a real shock for the band and we're still working through what we're going to do. We spent a long time finding the funds so that we could continue to present the band in a professional way."
Last year Bradwell Silver raised £2,400 for 'Help the Heroes', and this year can be heard caroling in New Bradwell and Bradville in the lead up to Christmas.

Tradition
The band is also seen every Christmas morning from 6.00am in New Bradwell upholding the 114-year tradition of heralding the start of local children not opening their presents until they hear a brass band play.
