The brass band recording specialists World of Sound has told 4BR that they are delighted that the 2015 'CD of the Year' and 'Solo CD of the Year' releases from Tredegar Band and David Thornton were produced and engineered by the company.
Winners
'Dark Arteries' and 'Parallel Realities' claimed the awards from Brass Band World and British Bandsman magazines — with no less than 12 of the overall 13 nominations being recorded by the company which boasts a renowned reputation for excellence.
Strong presence
Producer and Senior Recording Engineer Adam Goldsmith, told 4BR: "It's really exciting for World of Sound to have such a strong presence in these prestigious awards.
Obviously, for the individual producers and engineers of the products it's personally satisfying, but the fact that as a whole, World of Sound have been recognised in this way is also fantastic."
Self funded projects
He added: "It's great that our in-house labels Doyen and SP&S have once again been recognised, but really notable this year is the fact that both Tredegar and David Thornton were self-funded projects that utilised our outstanding recording packages.
We are also delighted that contemporary composers and wider musical ideas are being embraced in this way. Our congratulations go to Tredegar and David as well as to all the nominees and those who recorded with us during 2015."

Expertise and commitment
Tredegar's Chairman Alwyn Powell told 4BR: "The expertise and commitment of World of Sound to our project was as key to its critical success as the brilliant music of Gavin Higgins and the outstanding playing of the band.
The level of understanding of what we wanted to achieve with 'Dark Arteries' from Adam and the World of Brass team has resulted in the deserved plaudits."
