Kirklees Youth Band has teamed up with the Music Director of French circus company Circa Tsuica to begin rehearsals for new show entitled, 'Opus 7' which will be performed at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield in February.
Spontaneous way
Camille Secheppet told 4BR: "I'm delighted to be working on this project with the Kirklees Youth Band. Circa Tsuica has a playful and spontaneous way of performing which we want to share with the band.
We'll be working on pieces from our repertoire and improvising around their particular instruments and skills to create a unique musical mix for the show."
Aged 9 — 12
The Huddersfield youngsters, Ben Sidding, Eli Clegg, Camille Secheppet, Grace Throssell, Emily Roby and Holly Baker are all aged between 9 and 12, and will take part in 'Opus 7' — the fifth show from Circus Evolution, a five-year Arts Council England strategic touring initiative created to ensure that more high-quality contemporary circus work reaches a wider range of people across England.

Ideal show
Rachel Clare who manages Circus Evolution added: "'Opus 7' is an ideal show for the Circus Evolution initiative because it offers humour and spectacle, acrobatic and musical skill.
It also gives the opportunity for local musicians to work with French artists to inspire their musicianship and perform with them at some of the most prominent regional venues in the country."
