The amazing popularity of the UniBrass National Championship was shown earlier this week when it took less than six minutes from the opening time of the on-line entry forms for all the places for its 2016 event to be filled.
Misplaced kebab
In fact it took just 5 minutes 44 seconds after registration opened — with all 17 original starting places snapped up quicker than a misplaced kebab at student's house warming party.
It meant that there were two bands from Queen's University Belfast and Birmingham Conservatoire placed on a 'reserve list', although the organisers have now been able to accommodate them in the official list of competitors.
Date and time
The UniBrass Championship will now see 19 bands take part at the Warwick Arts Centre on the 20th February as a prelude to an evening concert given by Black Dyke.
