It has been announced that Ian Brownbill (above right) will be the adjudicator to impress at the 2016 Welsh Open Entertainment Contest.
Time and date
It will be the first time that the popular player, conductor and respected arts promoter has taken on the role at the event which takes place at the Pavilion Theatre in Porthcawl, on Saturday 20th February.
Schedules
Contest schedules and entry forms are now also available for bands wishing to take part in a contest that was first held in 1988. It is open to all nationally graded Championship and First Section bands with a first prize of £1,000 up for grabs alongside the magnificent CISWO Challenge Trophy.
The contest has become the traditional season opener for Welsh banding, although it is now open to competitors from all over the UK.
The defending champion is Burry Port, who claimed the title for the first time under the baton of Tom Davoren.
