New trom additions at Hade Edge

Following their success at the recent Rochdale contest Hade Edge complete the permanent signings of two rising trombone stars.

Hade Edge

Following their success at the Rochdale contest last weekend, the Hade Edge Band has announced two new additions to their trombone section.

Harry Reed, formerly of South Yorkshire Police Band, joins on principal trombone, with Jack Percy, coming from Jersey Premier Band to fill the bass trombone role. Both players are currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

Pleased to welcome

MD Jonathan Beatty told 4BR: "I'm pleased to welcome both lads. I've known Harry for a long time as I taught him before he went to the RNCM in September. I will enjoy watching a super young man further improve under his new teacher, Simon Cowen.

Harry and Jack are strong players, but they're also really good bandsmen, so it's great to have them on board. Together with Harrison Collins it's a fantastic section."

Great debut

It proved to be a great debut for the two new signings as they claimed the First Section title at Rochdale.

The MD added: "We are now hoping to carry on this winning form as we prepare for the Leicestershire Brass Band Association contest later this month."
