There was plenty of closer European integration on show when two of French banding's finest players travelled north from Paris to give masterclasses and solo performances with the Spijkerpakkenband in Holland.
Besson artists
Besson Performance Artists, Anthony Galinier (horn) (above) and Bastien Baumet (euphonium) made the trip from French National Champions Paris Brass Band to help the reigning Dutch First Section National Champion with their preparations in defence of their title at the Dutch National Championships in Utrecht next month.
Anthony and Bastien not only led masterclasses but also helped the band as they worked on John Golland's 'Sounds' — the First Section set work, and gave stunning solo performances in a special open concert on the Saturday evening.

Brilliant musicians
A band spokesperson told 4BR: "This was a wonderful event — and our thanks go to Besson for making this possible with two brilliant musicians.
The Saturday evening was organised to give the Dutch brass band music fans a chance to hear both the band and these fantastic players in action.
They were stunning and the help and advice they gave the band we feel will be invaluable as we look to defend our title."
