The 69th annual South West Brass Band Association Championships will take place on Saturday 7th November at The Riviera International Conference Centre in Torquay.

24 bands

The first of 24 bands in four sections will take to the stage at 10.30am with the contesting continuing through the day. The bands will have to impress adjudicators Jappie Dijkstra and Jan Van der Roost, welcome visitors from Holland and Belgium.

Competitors come from Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Dorset, with the presentation of the awards made by Association President, Sue Richards, and Cornwall Brass Band Association Chairman, Trevor Bedding.

Loyalty

Association Secretary Brian Elliott told 4BR: "Even though there are no monetary awards made to the winning bands, and with the high cost of travel, the Association is extremely proud that its member and guest bands continue to show such loyalty to the event."

An all-day ticket is available on the day priced £8 (with concessions).
