Besses o' th' Barn will be helping a local charity this weekend after hearing about their plight following a wanton act of vandalism.
Vandals
The volunteers at a church in Little Hulton were devastated when their community gardens were targeted. £1,500 of damage was caused, hampering their efforts to help local people through the Church's foodbank and affordable community cafe.
Foodbank
On hearing the news MD Simon Cowen offered the band's services for free to put on a concert to help raise funds.
All the proceeds from the event, which takes place this evening, will go to restoring the community gardens to ensure that they can continue providing food for the local community.

Working together
Simon told 4BR: I read the article about the vandalism in the Bolton News newspaper and it saddened me deeply. Working together I hope we can now help in some way for this most wonderful local cause."
Wharton & Cleggs Lane Church's Minister, Rev Philip Brooks replied: "We are overwhelmed at this very touching act of generosity from Simon and Besses.
It has made such a difference to our team of dedicated volunteers at the Church's Community Gardens. They feel inspired that the band would do this for them and for the local community. We are just so grateful."
