The West Midlands Divisional Fellowship Band of the Salvation Army has just returned from a successful tour to the island of Guernsey.
The five day event was hosted by the local Salvation Army Corps, and under the direction of Bandmaster Charles King the band performed eight concerts in a variety of locations.

These included their first concert within hours of landing at St Peter Port, and a memorable outdoor concert in the Market Square at St Peter Port, which saw principal cornet Eddie Toon thrill the crowds with the 'Post Horn Galop' performed on a balcony high above the square.
The 33 strong band plus 4 timbrelists also played a Saturday evening concert to a packed hall at Guernsey Salvation Army as well as leading Sunday meetings.

Wonderful time
Spokesperson David Birch told 4BR: "As well as our four timbrelists who opened every concert, the band was able to feature no less than nine soloists.
We enjoyed a wonderful time and we are all extremely grateful for the hospitality shown by all the members of Guernsey corps and their officers Majors Jamie and Claire Hill."
The band's final concerts saw them visit a local old people home and a special school where they also gave some workshop demonstrations.
