Leading brass band retailer Band Supplies has announced that they are to sponsor the Scottish Challenge Contest at the forthcoming Scottish Festival of Brass.

Connection

The event takes place at Perth Concert Hall over the weekends of Saturday 21st November, with the Scottish Youth Championship, and the 28th November, with the Scottish Open and Scottish Challenge events.

Band Supplies MD Ronnie Tennant told 4BR: "We have a long and proud connection with the Championships and it is a delight to be able to support the event in this way, alongside Besson Musical Instruments who are sponsoring the Scottish Open contest.

We also hope to give performers the free opportunity to work with Besson Musical Instrument stars, so watch this space for further information."

The Scottish Challenge will see 13 bands compete for the prizes with works that celebrate the compositional career of Edward Gregson, who celebrates his 70th birthday this year.

The Scottish Open will see 16 bands compete on Howard Snell's newly commissioned work, 'Gallery'.
