Oxfordshire contest cancelled

A lack of entries has meant the cancellation of the Oxfordshire & District Brass Band Association entertainment contest.

4BR has been informed that due to a lack of entries, the Oxfordshire & District Brass Band Association has cancelled their Entertainment Contest planned for 25th October.

Lack of numbers

Spokesperson Lynne Whitley told 4BR: "Unfortunately the Association has been forced to cancel our entertainment contest due to a lack of numbers.

We plan to run the contest next year and have booked the venue for October 16th 2016, which we believe will avoid the school holidays and the Royal Albert Hall weekend."

Next event

Lynne added: "We offer our apologies to the bands that had entered.

Entry forms will shortly be available for our Winter Contest at Marlborough School, Woodstock on Sunday 28th February 2016.

It will be an own-choice test piece contest ideal for giving the Area test piece a 'run-out' in contest conditions just before the regional events."
