Co-op add strength to Spiriti assault

Co-operative Funeralcare has added a trio of new signings to the band ahead of their National Final appearance at London in October.

Funeralcare

The Co-operative Funeralcare Band has announced the addition of two new players and the welcome return of one very familiar face as they start preparations for their appearance at the National Final in London in October.

Welcome return and signings

Alison Bonnar has re-joined on 2nd Euphonium after her time away due to work commitments.

Alison was a member of the band for many years and earned a renowned reputation as a top class player.

Meanwhile, Lindsay Roxburgh has joined on repiano cornet from the Dalmellington Band, where she has enjoyed many successes, whilst Gordon Kyle has joined on soprano cornet.

For many years Gordon was a member of the Kirkintilloch Kelvin and Kirkintilloch bands winning several 'Best Soloist' and 'Best Instrumentalist' awards.

Delighted

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We are delighted with these new arrivals as we look forward to building on our impressive performance at the British Open.

The band would like to place on record it's thanks to Caroline Tennant who has decided to take a break following the recent British Open.

We have benefited greatly from Caroline's many years of outstanding service and performances and we hope she will return in the future."
