Sterling Instruments has offered its congratulations to two of its leading artists following memorable appearances at the recent British Open Championship in Birmingham.
Outstanding
Euphonium virtuoso Glyn Williams (above) was awarded the prestigious Geoffrey Whitham Memorial Trophy in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Cory's podium finishing performance of 'Reflections on Swan Lake', on what was his British Open debut with the world's number 1 ranked band.
In addition, Foden's rising baritone star Sarah Lenton was presented with a Harry Mortimer Memorial Trust Award after being nominated for her outstanding student studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
Sarah will use her bursary award of £500 to work on a new commission for the baritone with American composer Nate Kimball.
We are proud that we have helped them to these wonderful achievements and we see it as a fantastic endorsement that players of this calibre choose to put their trust in usSterling MD, Paul Riggett
World class
Sterling Musical Instruments MD, Paul Riggett told 4BR: "Both Glyn and Sarah are world class brass band musicians who have taken the decision to perform on Sterling instruments.
We are proud that we have helped them to these wonderful achievements and we see it as a fantastic endorsement that players of this calibre choose to put their trust in us. It is little wonder that many other leading players are following suit."
