Final coda reached for JSVB

The final musical coda has been reached for James Shepherd Versatile Brass — with the announcement of their final ever concert.

Versatile Brass

James Shepherd Versatile Brass will perform their final concert later this year on what has been a remarkable 43 year career of innovative music making.

Final appearance

The group has announced that they will make their final ever concert appearance on Wednesday 16th December at the Millgate Arts Centre in Delph.

Legendary cornet player James Shepherd formed his ensemble in 1972 — bringing together 10 of the finest brass band players of the time to form the unique combination.

Over the years many of the world's finest performers have been part of the group as they travelled the world entertaining audiences with sparkling arrangements and original works.

Coda

However, the ensemble has reached the final coda of their musical journey together which will bring to a close their unique brand of brass entertainment.

The time has come to finally bring down the curtain on what has been a fantastic 43 years of music makingJSVB spokesperson Kevin Holdgate

Right time

JSVB spokesperson Kevin Holdgate told 4BR: "The time has come to finally bring down the curtain on what has been a fantastic 43 years of music making.

Following Jim's decision to reform the group three years ago we have performed in fabulous concerts, recorded two CD's, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Our latest and final CD, entitled 'Legacy' will be released shortly, so it is the right time to play out the final few bars together."

Ticket arrangements for the final concert will be announced in the next few weeks.
