The Leicestershire Brass Band Association has extended its closing date for entries to the 2015 Leicestershire Open Contest until the 26th September.
Request
Following a request from a number of bands, the Association decided that the closing date will be extended by two weeks to allow bands extra time to consider their entries — especially those participating at the National Finals at Cheltenham.
Support
Association Chairman Steve Plant told 4BR: "The contest has always supported bands in being able to participate and enjoy their contesting.
We hope that this extension gives bands that little extra time needed after summer breaks and other contests not to miss out.
The association looks forward to welcoming bands from all over the country to Loughborough in November."
Bands already entered will be written to advising them of the change. A full pre-draw will take place, which also supports bands to plan their contest day.
