Drybrook adds experience to Cheltenham assault

The West of England Second Section champion has added plenty of experience to their ranks ahead of their Cheltenham challenge.

The A.W.Parker (Drybrook) Band has announced a number of key signings and internal moves as they look forward to their appearance at the National Finals in Cheltenham later this month.

Welcome

The West of England Second Section champion welcomes back Deb Galliott who joins on first horn with Carol Kear making the switch to second cornet.

Also joining on second horn is the experienced Michael Caress, who has previously played with Tredegar and more recently Brunel Brass, whilst the equally experienced Lyndon Fletcher joins to fill the vacant second baritone seat from Flowers Band.

Having qualified as the West of England Second Section Champion, the band is really looking forward to representing the region with prideMD, Josh Ruck

Delighted

Musical Director, Joshua Ruck told 4BR: "I'm delighted that the committee have been able to secure the services of these excellent players. It will no doubt be a great boost to have these quality additions on stage in Cheltenham."

He added: "Following an enjoyable performance at Ross last weekend, all focus has now has turned to Cheltenham.

Having qualified as the West of England Second Section Champion, the band is really looking forward to representing the region with pride."

Chinnor Silver

June 7 • Our Community Band is meeting on Monday {9th} and would welcome anyone who fancies an extra friendly rehearsal,with coffee and cake involved.. We rehearse in our bandroom at 11am its free and it open to all abilities.. No commitment required.

June 6 • Epping Forest band have a vacancy for solo horn. We are a friendly 3rd section band with a variety of gigs through out the year. We have our own band hut with close to links with London Underground central line and the M11 motorway.

June 6 • Front row cornet, solo horn & trombone players. We are a friendly, active non competition band established 75 years performing regularly in Chelmsford & Essex. Rehearsals averaging 26 players on Wednesday evenings at Broomfield Methodist Church Chelmsford
