The Huddersfield & Ripponden Band has announced the appointment of Adam Bell as their new Musical Director.

Adam takes the baton after enjoying a successful playing and conducting career, leading Gawthorpe Youth Band for the last eight years.

He told 4BR: "The opportunity to take the role is a very exciting one. The organisation has an impressive set-up and I look forward to working with a friendly and talented group of players and continuing the progress made over the past year or more."

Progress

The band has had some ups and downs on recent years, but following the progress made under former Foden's flugel star Helen Williams, the band was keen to keep on moving in the right direction.

Band Secretary, Alan Jazwinski, added: "We are very pleased to welcome Adam and we are looking forward with great optimism for the future."
