The Rogerstone Band has announced that Dave Short has accepted the role as their new Musical Director.

Dave returns to the Welsh band 32 years after he initially moved away to study. He is a past member of the National Youth Orchestra and the National Youth Brass Band of Wales, and studied Performance (Bass Trombone) & Composition at Huddersfield University.

He has played with many leading bands, including Cory, Carlton Main Frickley and Sun Life as well as enjoying considerable success with the baton with bands across south Wales and the West Country.

Means a lot

He told 4BR: "This is an appointment that really means a lot to me. Rogerstone was my first Championship Section Band and was the springboard into playing at the highest level.
