Clifton & Lightcliffe bring a musical taste of Yorkshire to the shores of Lake Maggiore in Italy.

The Clifton & Lightcliffe Band has just completed a very successful eight day tour to the Lake Maggiore area of Italy.

Standing ovations

The band was based at the beautiful lakeside Hotel Regina Palace in Stresa and during the week they performed three concerts in and around the area — gaining standing ovations from locals and tourists alike.

The concerts included a performance at the resort of Ispra organised by the local Mayor and the President of the Varese area, another at the top end of Lake Garda in the village of Condino, where the band received a wonderful reception with a banquet in the afternoon provided by the local residents, and at Regina Palace Hotel where the band were based.

We are now looking towards 2017 when we hope to be off on our travels once moreBand spokesperson

Invaluable

A Band spokesperson told 4BR: "We are very grateful to Lyndon Stacey, a friend of the band who lives and works in Italy, who was invaluable in helping to organise the concerts.

The band is fortunate in that it has toured worldwide a number of times over the last 12 years, but we thoroughly enjoy the experience and the hard work that goes in to raising the necessary funds.

We are now looking towards 2017 when we hope to be off on our travels once more."
