Organisers of the forthcoming Bolsover Festival of Brass contest are issuing a reminder to bands that wish to compete to get their entries in as soon as possible.
Great response
There has already been a great response to the event taking place at the Heritage High School in Clowne in Derbyshire on Sunday 4th October, thanks to the generous prize funds, excellent facilities and the innovative development of the contest day being broadcast live to the banding world on the internet.
Bolsover District Council has linked up with the Arts Council of England's 'First Art' project which will see the First Section and Championship Section events broadcast live for over 8 hours of non-stop contest day coverage.
Closing date
Bolsover Council's Arts Development Officer Carole Hirst told 4BR: "We have already gained a great response from bands, but with the closing date fast approaching on the 7th September we want to be able to link up with all the competitors to help them provide a wonderful day of brass band entertainment."
