Yorkshire's Niagara preview

If you want to hear a trio of Cheltenham test pieces before the big day then get yourself off to the splendidly named Niagara Conference & Leisure Centre..

The Unite the Union (City of Sheffield) Band will be hosting a test piece preview evening ahead of the Cheltenham National Finals.

The event will take place on Sunday 6th September at the Niagara Conference and Leisure Centre, Niagara Road, Sheffield, S6 1LU, with three bands performing.

Trio of bands

Oughtibridge under the direction of Gavin Somerset, will perform the Fourth Section set work 'Visions' by Dan Price, while Slaithwaite, conducted by Rob Westacott, will present the Third Section, 'The Graces of Love' by Oliver Waespi.

Unite the Union under the direction of David Hirst, will perform 'The Alchymist's Journal' by Kenneth Hesketh, before the evening's entertainment will be concluded with a short concert by the hosts, joined by guest soloist and Slaithwaite MD, Rob Westacott.

The event will take place on Sunday 6th September at the Niagara Conference and Leisure Centre, Niagara Road, Sheffield, S6 1LU, with three bands performing4BR

It all kicks off at 7:30pm, and whilst there is no charge for entry, the audience are requested to help fund the evening by buying raffle tickets which will be on sale throughout the evening.

Wotton-under-Edge Silver Band

November 4 • We are a busy and very friendly 2nd section band with 5 current vacancies - FRONT ROW CORNET – BACK ROW CORNET- EUPHONIUM - Bb BASS - PERCUSSION. We rehearse on Tuesdays & Thursdays near our lovely home town, just a short drive from M5, J14.


Harlow Brass Band

November 4 • We have vacancies for CORNETS, TROMBONES, 2ND HORN AND PERCUSSION. We are a welcoming, non contesting band who organising their own Spring and Christmas concerts and enjoy playing at local events throughout the year.


Chinnor Silver

November 4 • Our COMMUNITY BANDS next rehearsal is on Monday 10th at 11am and held in our bandroom.. Blowing with us doesn't impact your own band and its free.. We welcome all regardless of ability . Tea and cakes an added bonus.
