The Cinderford Band has announced the death of Principal Eb tubas player Stan Jones following a short illness. He was aged 77.

Band Chairman, Christopher Walding told 4BR: "Stan started playing when he was 10 and joined Cinderford when he was 12 — the beginning of what was over 65 year's outstanding service.

Stan was a true bandsman and a fine player who was respected by everyone who knew him. He will be sorely missed and our deepest sympathies go to Evelyn, his wife of 55 years and his family at this very sad time."
