An ensemble from East Lancashire Concert Band has made an emotional musical contribution towards the commemoration of the sacrifice made by those who lost their lives in the First World War.

Reveille

The 'Reveille Project' aims to conserve the records of those from Blackburn and Darwen who perished on the Somme and who, with no known grave, are commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.

The event included a presentation by the Project Leader, Dominic Butler and a demonstration of a WW1 infantryman's weapons and kit by members of the Great War Society.

Ending

Proceedings were brought to an end by Band Chairman Nick Home playing the 'Last Post' and, after a minute's silence, sounding 'Reveille'.
