Glossop Old Band is looking to return to the contesting arena later this year after enjoying a welcome revival under MD Les Webb.
At the turn of the millennium the band was competing at the British Open Championship at Symphony Hall and as recently as 2008 won the Midlands Area First Section title, and their last contest outing was in the Midlands Regional Championship in 2011.
Overdue return
However, thanks to a great deal of hard work and some inspirational leadership they look poised to make a long overdue return.
A spokesperson told 4BR: "We are building in strength each week, with just one or two vacancies remaining. Our latest signings are Andy Bradley on horn with a welcome return of Trevor Allen on Eb tuba."

Brilliant
Speaking of the two new players, MD Les Webb said: "It's brilliant to have players of Trevor and Andy's experience come to come to us.
It allows me to concentrate more on the musical aspect of the band as we look forward to what promises to be an exciting future once again."
