Band Supplies add Prestige to Dodd

Band Supplies has delivered Michael Dodd's new Prestige euphonium to the Grimethorpe star — and in plenty of time for the trip to Oz.

Michael Dodd at Band Supplies

Grimethorpe Colliery Band principal euphonium Michael Dodd was a welcome visitor to Band Supplies in Leeds this week (above) to take delivery of his brand new Besson Prestige B2052 instrument — all in time for his trip to Australia with the Brass in Concert champion in just over a week's time.

Busy

Michael was keen to get his hands on the euphonium as he will certainly be busy using it as soon as they touch down in Brisbane on the start of a tour which will see Grimethorpe travel the country to undertake 10 concerts in as many days.

If you play with the best band in the world you have to play on the best instrument — and I'm lucky to do bothMichael Dodd

Perfect time

He told 4BR: "The Prestige has come at the perfect time — thanks to Besson and Band Supplies. The B2052 is an amazing instrument and I can't wait to start practicing on it.

As soon as Band Supplies knew my requirements they ensured everything was done so quickly."

The best

He added: "It will certainly be used a lot on tour with all those concerts. If you play with the best band in the world you have to play on the best instrument — and I'm lucky to do both."
