17th Sptember:
Radio 2 Young Brass Award winner, euphonium star Grant Jameson in concert at the Sunday Gala in Symphony Hall Birmingham.
He plays 'Brillante' by Peter Graham with the Foden's Band directed by Allan Withington. The Gala is a blue ribbon event in the banding year and also features music from Black Dyke and Cory.

10th September:
The British Open Brass Championship was established in 1853 making it the oldest brass band contest in the world.
Everyone will be play 'Reflections on Swan Lake' by Stephen Roberts which re-imagines the music of Tchaikovsky's famous ballet. Frank Renton is at Symphony Hall in Birmingham to record music and conversation throughout the day.

3rd September:
Frank Renton features music which helped create seminal dancing moments in film, ballet and on television.
Who can forget Gene Kelly dancing and 'Singin' in the Rain', the 'Adagio' from the ballet 'Spartacus' and its 'Onedin Line' connections, the joyous Finale from 'Pineapple Poll', 'The Dashing White Sergeant' of English country dancing fame and the legend that is 'Riverdance'?

The recent death of Ernest Tomlinson has highlighted the music of English composers for band who were, and sometimes still are, the mainstay of the band world.
Frank Renton presents a programme of classic English music by George Allan, the march king of the North East, the enigmatic and often brilliant Wilfred Heaton, contemporary masters Phillip Sparke and Elgar Howarth and Ernest Tomlinson himself.
