The Ripon City Band has announced the retirement of their long standing Musical Director, Malcolm Dibb.
Malcolm, who has been at the helm for eight highly enjoyable and successful years, has decided to relinquish his role to enable him and his wife Sue to enjoy the full benefits of early retirement.
Memorable one
He told 4BR: "The time I have spent with the band has been a memorable one with many highlights. Together we have achieved a great deal and for this I thank each and every one who has been a part of the organisation. I intend to make full use of my retirement and new found leisure time."
Area titles
During his tenure Malcolm led the band from the Third to the First Section, claiming consecutive North of England Regional titles in the Third and Second Section in 2012 and 2013, and four Ripon Contest victories along the way.
He also encouraged a flourishing training band, which currently boasts 21 players.

Band Chairman, Richard Heath added: "The band will be very sorry to see Malcolm leave but fully understand and support his decision to take time for himself and his wife Sue, who is incredibly supportive.

4BR understands the band is now actively seeking a new Musical Director.
