New trio helps family atmosphere at Ireland Colliery Chesterfield

A trio of new players helps things along at Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band.

Ireland Colliery Chesterfield

After a successful start to June with the 4th ICCB & Raw Brewery 'Music & Real Ale' weekend, as well as performing at one of the largest vintage bicycle festivals in Europe held in Bakewell, Ireland Colliery Chesterfield has also found time to welcome a trio of new players to the band.

New trio

Alison Gee comes in on cornet to join her husband and two sons. Alison hasn't played for a few years but now wants to enjoy the banding bug again with her family.

Meanwhile, Sarah Tolley joins on euphonium from Whaley Bridge where she has been a member for a number of years, and Craig Anderson comes in on BBb tuba.

With Alison joining the rest of her family we now have four players under the age of 13 and it really feels like a family band again with the kids helping each other alongBand Chairman Gary Willis

Welcome

Band Chairman Gary Willis told 4BR: "It's great to welcome these new players. With Alison joining the rest of her family we now have four players under the age of 13 and it really feels like a family band again with the kids helping each other along."
