The Flowers Band has announced the signing of Paul Bennett.
The Butlins champion has moved quickly to secure the services of one of the UKs leading horn players following his recent departure from the Fairey Band.
Ambition
With Flowers just over an hour from his home, Paul told 4BR that the less arduous travel and the musical ambition of the West of England band was central to him accepting their invitation to join as solo horn.
"I wanted to continue playing at the highest level, and the opportunity to join Flowers certainly gives me that,"he said.
"The travel time from my home to band is greatly reduced, which gives me greater flexibility with my work, but it was also the ambition of the band and what they want to achieve that really made it an easy decision.
It's that focused long term development that is so exciting."

Outstanding player
Band Manager Lee Downie added: "It's always good to welcome players of Paul's stature to Flowers, especially as he was impressed by our plans to develop the band successfully both on and off the contest and concert stages.
We are delighted to add another outstanding player to our ranks."
