The highly respected bass trombonist, composer and banding adjudicator, Adrian Morris has spoken of his delight at his recent award of a Fellowship from the Royal Northern of College of Music in Manchester.
Halle
Adrian is the principal bass trombone with Manchester's Halle Orchestra as well as being a senior tutor at the college, where he started his studies in 1980 under Neville Roberts and Terry Nagle.
He later went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music with Peter Gane, Eric Crees and Ray Premru, courtesy of a scholarship from the Countess of Munster Musical Trust.
Teaching posts
He subsequently held teaching posts at various leading universities and conservatoires including Manchester and Salford, Chetham's School of Music and Queen's University in Belfast.
In addition to his renowned orchestral work, Adrian has also performed with many leading brass bands — including Desford, Foden's and Leyland, whilst he has a growing list of well received compositions to his name.

Honour
Speaking to 4BR on his Fellowship, which was presented to him by RNCM Professors Linda Merrick and John Miller at a recent concert given by the RNCM Brass Band and Black Dyke, Adrian said: "I'm absolutely delighted to have been made a Fellow of the RNCM. It's a real honour.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my work at the college over the last 16 years, and have been truly inspired by such talented students and colleagues.
I can't tell you how sincerely I appreciate this and what it means to me."
