Thoresby benefit from Freemason handshake

Thoresby Colliery Band has been given a generous helping hand from the Freemasons of Bassetlaw in recognition of their fine community work.

Thoresby cheque

A generous donation from local Freemasons will help keep Thoresby Colliery Band looking good in the future.

The Freemasons of Bassetlaw, a charitable arm of the Nottinghamshire Freemasons, presented the band with a cheque of £2,500 at a recent concert as part of an award from a regional fund for local community groups.

Promote Nottinghamshire

Fund member Neil Airey told 4BR: "Thoresby Colliery Band exactly fits our criteria. We are delighted to present this award knowing they will continue to promote the County of Nottinghamshire for many years to come."

Thanks

Band Chairman, George Kennedy added: "This donation could not have come at a better time. We can now look at a much needed uniform replacement and also a full set of music stands.

We can't thank the Bassetlaw and Nottinghamshire Freemasons enough for their generosity."
