The Hatfield Band has released a statement to 4BR outlining their intention to seek, what they refer to as, 'external channels' in their bid to try and overturn their disqualification from the 2015 Yorkshire Area Championship.
The statement reads:
Hatfield Band, (Hatfield) acknowledge the recent 'Appeal Hearing', heard by the proposed, independent Tribunal brought together by Kapitol Promotions Limited, to mediate in respect of Hatfield's disqualification from the First Section Contest of the Yorkshire Regional Brass Band Championships held on the 7th March 2015 at the St Georges Hall Bradford, for the alleged breach of Rule 9a of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
Further, Hatfield acknowledge the decision of the Tribunal to uphold the decision to disqualify Hatfield given the alleged rule breach, however Hatfield do not accept the Tribunal's decision and therefore consider the matter unresolved.
Having taken appropriate advice on the matter, Hatfield will now continue to seek, by external channels, to overturn the circumstances, which came about at St Georges Hall on the 7th March 2015.
For the moment, Hatfield would like to thank all those who offered support and encouragement and indeed helped in the attempt to correct the outcome of the unfortunate incident.
Finally, Hatfield would like to indicate that the band continues to work hard in its efforts to rebuild the organization and its reputation within the music and commercial domains, based on the solid foundations forged over the past eighteen months by dedicated personnel."
