Owen takes box role at Dutch Open

Yamaha tenor horn star Arfon Owen will join Cory MD Philip Harper in the box at the forthcoming Dutch Open in Drachten.

Yamaha Neo tenor horn artist, Arfon Owen will adjudicate at this year's Dutch Open Brass Band Championship alongside Cory MD, Philip Harper.

The contest takes place on the 13th June at the De Lawei Theatre in Drachten and is held in partnership with Yamaha. It features bands from the Championship, First and Second Sections giving performance sets of up to 30 minutes in duration.

Enjoyable

In what promises to be a highly enjoyable as well as competitive event, Arfon told 4BR that he is excited at the prospect of adjudicating at the major event.

"I'm delighted to have been invited to adjudicate at this year's Dutch Open Championships. The quality of the competing bands is excellent and I am looking forward to hearing them alongside Philip in the box."

Currently living and working in Stavanger, Arfon is a member of the Stavanger Band as well as being in demand as a versatile freelance brass musician and professional organist and pianist.
