The Cory Band has publically thanked tenor horn star Owen Farr for his outstanding contribution to the Welsh ensemble's success over the last decade or more, following his announcement that he has left the band to pursue other aspects of his musical career.
Thanks
Speaking on behalf of the band, Musical Director Philip Harper told 4BR: "Owen has been a wonderful asset to Cory Band for the past 11 years, and we wish to place on record our thanks for his service.
He has been a great ambassador for Cory, and his playing has lit up many a concert and contest stage around the world in his time with us.
As an ex-tenor horn player myself, it has given me much pleasure to work with Owen and see his pioneering work develop the profile of the instrument.
We worked together on a new tenor horn concerto in my first few months with the band back in 2012, and more recently on his solo CD, 'A New Dawn'. His dedication to the band has been absolute, and I thank him for all he has brought to Cory over the years."

Best of luck
He added: "All at Cory wish Owen the best of luck in pursuing a solo career and, closer to home, in bringing up his new family with his wife, Helen.
Owen has asked to keep his registration with Cory and be considered number one tenor horn dep, and I'm sure we will be taking up that offer!"
