4BR has been informed that the proposed Hebden Bridge March Contest that was due to be held on June 14th, has been cancelled.
Primary reason
A spokesperson told 4BR: "The primary reason is the drop off in sponsorship available, and contrary to other years, the Hebden Bridge Band is not in a position to underwrite any financial shortfall.
This shortfall together with a relatively low entry has meant the contest is not viable."
4BR understands that it is hoped that alternative sponsorship can be found to reinstate the contest in 2016.
