Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band & Raw Brewery have informed 4BR that they will be running its popular Music & Real Ale weekend from 12th — 14th June 2015 at Parkside Community School, Boythorpe Mount, Chesterfield S40 2NS.
Feedback
After receiving feedback from previous years events, it has moved to a larger venue this year to enable Raw Brewery Company to occupy a separate bar area to the main hall concert area, whilst still offering a choice of accessing the concerts events if required. In this dedicated area, there will be over 20 Real Ales and Ciders on offer and there will be live music on offer for the connoisseurs of real ale.
Pink ladies in concert
This year’s music festival is launched with a charity concert by the ladies in pink, Boobs & Brass who will be performing Friday evening. Throughout the day on Saturday there will be a Solo & Duet Contest and a chance for silverware to be won, and in the evening the host band, Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band will present their ‘World Tour’ of music with a variety of entertaining pieces from many countries.
The weekend’s events continue on Sunday 14th June with the 9th Annual 'Battle of the Bands' contest.
This year’s event promises to be bigger and better with the addition of both a 1st and 2nd Section contest alongside the 3rd and 4th Section, Unregistered & Training Band sections.
If brass isn’t your thing, then the bar area will be open throughout the weekend to sample some great local real ale from the Raw Brewing Company and other local breweries.
Looking forward
Gary Willis, Chairman of Ireland Colliery how much everybody is looking forward to the weekend:
"I am really looking forward to my first Music & Real Ale weekend as Chairman of Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band. We have listened to previous feedback from bands last year and have sourced a larger venue to enable this event to grow and improve with separate facilities.
The bands and players can come enjoy a great weekend of events listening to the contest and concerts or just having a drink in our bar area. I would like to extend my thanks to the Committee for their hard work".
This year's festival that has moved to a bigger venue incorporates concerts, the Battle of the Bands contest and you can enjoy plenty of fine ale~4BR
