4BR has been informed that after two years building a successful musical partnership, the highly experienced Kevin Wadsworth has ended his conducting relationship with Stannington Brass.

Opposing views

Kevin told 4BR: "Unfortunately it was clear that there were opposing views on how to make further progress and improve the quality of the band’s playing.

I've really enjoyed my period with the band, but my views differed from some of the long established playing members of the committee.

The band is undoubtedly in better shape now than when I arrived and I wish them well for their futureKevin Wadsworth

Fun atmosphere

He added: "I must admit that the band has a great fun atmosphere but the wide range of ability has hampered progress.
