Buxton set for traditional May Bank Holiday contest

There will be a fine turn out of bands at Buxton this forthcoming Sunday.

Buxton's Pavilion Gardens will play host on Sunday to the North West Brass Band Association's annual May Day Bank Holiday contest.

Twenty

Twenty bands will take to the stage across the three sections where a variety of own choice repertoire will be on display. John Doyle will be judging the Third & Fourth Sections with Michael Fowles looking after the combined Championship & First Section.

The action gets underway at 10.00am

Chinnor Silver

March 17 • What a day, 2nd place in our regional contest, qualification for the National Finals and promotion to the 1st Section. However we need basses( Bb or Eb) and percussionists to join us on our exciting journey. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings in Chinnor.

March 16 • Musical Director required. . Enderby Band are a championship section band based in the village of Enderby in Leicestershire. . . Rehearsals are Tuesday and Friday evenings 8pm until 10pm. . . Resident or professional sought depending on experience.
