Geneva Instruments have announced that leading cornet player Ben Godfrey is the latest high profile player to join their artist team.

After completing an independent review of the new Geneva ‘Mentor’ Bb cornet, Ben was so impressed with its qualities that he expressed his interest in joining the Geneva stable of world renowned performers.

Artistic experience

A graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, Ben’s CV includes a successful spell at Yorkshire Building Society Band, four years with the Coldstream Guards Band and six years with the Central Band of the RAF.

Ben’s freelance work has seen him play with many of the leading professional ensembles, including the London Symphony Orchestra and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales as well as featuring in London’s West End shows such as ‘Guys and Dolls’ and ‘Fiddler on the Roof’.

You can also hear Ben’s on the trumpet theme to the Channel 4 News daily at 7.00pm.

Delighted

Ben Godfrey told 4BR: “I’m delighted to be joining the impressive list of Geneva Artists. After being so impressed with the new Geneva ‘Mentor’ cornet, I’m thrilled to be playing their exceptional professional trumpets and cornets. I'm looking forward to some exciting times ahead with Geneva Instruments.”

Highest calibre

Meanwhile, Duncan Cartledge of Geneva Instruments told 4BR: “We’re delighted to have yet another artist of the highest calibre join the Geneva team.

Ben is a wonderfully versatile player with meticulous musical demands of the instruments he plays. We are so pleased he feels that the Geneva cornets and trumpets are the right choice for him to continue performing at the highest level.

Having artists such as Glenn Van Looy, James Fountain, Sheona White and Ben really speaks volumes about the success of the Geneva range of instruments. We’re so pleased performers of their calibre believe Geneva Instruments are the best choice for them.”
