The Enderby Band has announced that it has regretfully accepted the resignation of Musical Director, Simon Jones.
Simon’s increasing work commitments means the end of a period of considerable success for the band under his leadership.
Victories
During the past twelve months alone, Enderby won the 2014 Midland Area First Section title (above), appeared at the First Section National Final, and claimed top four finishes at the Leicester, Milton Keynes and Butlin’s contests.
Tribute
Band spokesperson Trevor Hounsome told 4BR: “Enderby Band would like to place on record their gratitude to Simon for his meticulous contest preparation, and pay tribute to his infectious enthusiasm in inspiring the band to this string of successful performances. We wish Simon well in his future career.”

Small role
4BR was informed that the band will shortly be advertising for a new Musical Director.
In the meantime, solo euphonium Chris Small, who also directs Burbage Silver Band, will lead them at their forthcoming appearances at the Wood Farm Brewery and Whit Friday contests.
