There are still some spaces still available on the forthcoming Dorset Brass Workshop in April.

4BR has been informed that there are still spaces available on the Trevada Musical Instruments sponsored brass workshops to be held on Saturday 18th April in Dorset with Sterling Instruments performing artists Glyn and Helen Williams.

Wealth of experience

The Foden’s Band duo will bring a wealth of playing and conducting experience with them, and will also be performing solos in an evening concert, accompanied by Gillingham Imperial Silver Band, featuring numbers from Glyn’s latest CD ‘Platinum Celebration’.

Time and place

The Trevada sponsored workshop will take place from 2.00pm-5.00pm at The Exchange in Sturminster Newton.

The music to be worked on will be ‘Police Academy March’, ‘Concerto de Aranjuez’, ‘Circle of Life’ and Pharrell Williams highly popular ‘Happy’.

Concert finale

The workshops are open to brass players of all ages and abilities, and the price of £10 includes a buffet supper, entry to the evening concert and performance of the day’s work in the concert finale.

The workshop will take place from 2.00pm-5.00pm at The Exchange in Sturminster Newton4BR

November 23 • Bb Cornet, Euphonium, Eb Bass and Percussion required to complete the line-up.. Under the Direction of Duncan Beckley, the band is keen to fill these few remaining seats.


Bilton Silver Rugby Band

November 22 • Bilton Silver (Rugby) requires a cornet player to join our Championship Section band (Position negotiable). Under MD Brad Turnbull we have a varied programme of events. Rehearsals are held on Monday and Friday at 7-45pm in our own purpose built bandroom.


Besses o'th' Barn Band

November 21 • Under the direction of David W Ashworth, we are making every effort to complete the rebuild of this very famous brass band. We require one kit and one tuned percussionists plus one Back Row Cornet to complete our line up for the North West Area Contest.
