Thomas ends residency at Leyland

Increased conducting commitments ends Huw Thomas residency at Leyland.

Huw Thomas

4BR has been informed that Huw Thomas has relinquished his role as resident conductor of the Leyland Band.

Regret

Huw told 4BR: “It is with regret that I announce that I have to leave my role with such a great band.

My increased conducting commitments in Denmark and in the North of England mean that it has become very difficult to balance my own and their professional needs. Many of my upcoming commitments interfere with Leyland's busy schedule of concerts and contest preparations.

I would like to thank the band for their time and efforts over the last year and wish them all the best in the future.”

We have thoroughly enjoyed working with him over the last year and have great respect for his musicianship and commitmentLeyland Band

Enjoyed

A Leyland Band spokesperson added: “We fully understand Huw’s position and wish him well for the future. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with him over the last year and have great respect for his musicianship and commitment.

We are sure he will enjoy great success with his conducting career.”
