The Bon-Accord Silver Band has added to their impressive trophy collection after gaining a fine podium finish in the Championship Section at the recent Scottish Championship — their best result since 1983.

Plaudits

Under the direction of MD Steve Malcolm, their performance of ‘The Torchbearer’ saw them gain plaudits both inside and outside of the adjudicator’s tent, as their third place finish behind Whitburn and Co-operative Funeralcare Bands also secured a direct invitation to the Scottish Open Championship later this year.

Good form

The success continues an impressive run of good form following victories in 2014 at the Northern Counties Open Contest and Scottish Challenge Shield. The band was also crowned SBBA 2014 First Section Band of the Year.
