Derwent Brass has announced the signing of bass trombone player John Hickling.
Work commitments
Due to significant work commitments as Director of Education at Warwick Music Group and for the charity ‘Brass for Africa’, Chris Fower has decided to take back seat, with MD Keith Leonard telling 4BR: “I’d like to thank Chris for his tremendous contribution to our performances since he joined the band back in 2013.
Looking to the future, it’s wonderful to have immediately engaged John Hickling, a great player with vast experience. I look forward to working together as we continue our musical journey.”
No stranger
John is no stranger to top level Midlands banding having enjoyed notable success during his time with Desford Colliery under James Watson and Howard Snell.
Following a playing sabbatical, he recently played with Newstead Brass and Enderby before joining Derwent in 2013.
