The remarkable Argentinean trombonist Lito Fontana is currently enjoying a flying visit to Wales, where he is set to inspire as well as perform alongside the lucky students of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff.
Concert appearance
Lito will be working alongside Dr Robert Childs and students on Thursday and Friday before rounding off his visit to the Welsh capital with a special ‘Friday Night is Latin Night’ concert at the RWCMD Dora Stoutzker Hall alongside the RWCMD Brass Band.
Maradona
Lito is regarded as one of the world’s finest trombone performers and those lucky enough to have heard him in action over the years will certainly vouch for the fact that he is perhaps the most gifted players to come out of Argentina since Diego Maradona.
4BR will be catching up with him before his concert appearance which is set for Friday 27th February at the RWCMD in Cardiff — starting at 7.30pm.
