New signings boost Carlton Main

A trio of new signings boost the ranks ahead of Carlton Main's Bradford assault.

Carlton Main

Carlton Main Frickley Colliery has announced the appointment of a trio of young players as they prepare for their appearance at the forthcoming Yorkshire Regional Championship in Bradford on Sunday March 8th.

Horn, baritone, cornet

Emma Davis, Joanna Cambray-Young and Martin Swann come in on horn, baritone and cornet respectively.

Joanna originally hails from Hampshire but her relocation up north has meant she is now able to fully commit to the band and after playing with them at the Brass in Concert Championship in November, whilst Emma is greatly looking forward to playing at her first top flight Yorkshire Area contest.

However, for Martin, it is more of a return than a new venture, as he first joined the band in 2007, enjoying appearances at the British Open, Nationals and English Nationals.

Following a break and an enjoyable period with Thoresby Colliery in the Midlands, he now returns hoping to win his first ever Championship Regional title.

With these final key players in place, the young team are raring to go and put out a top class performance in Bradford in a few weeks under the baton of our MD, Phillip McCannCarlton Main Frickley
