4BR has been informed that as part of the fifth anniversary celebrations of the UniBrass Championship on the weekend, the organisers are giving non-brass musicians the chance to perform at the event as part of their ‘Performers Platform’ initiative.
Individuals and groups
Throughout Saturday, individuals and groups from the local area will perform within the Warwick Arts Centre for the UniBrass audience.
A spokesperson told 4BR: “We hope this opportunity will enable more local musicians to reach a larger audience, helping them initiate their career, as well as giving brass band audiences a new experience at a brass band contest.
The ‘Performers Platform’ will run alongside the main events and will showcase a wide variety of different local music groups. While the contest, workshops and concerts are aimed at brass players and enthusiasts, we also want to get as many other musicians into the building as we can!”

Perfect opportunity
They added: “This is the perfect opportunity to perform in an informal setting while being involved in a national event, and all the performers are invited to attend the other events, particularly the free workshops for brass players!”
