New appointments at Abergavenny

New roles add experience to Abergavenny ranks.

Abergavenny

Abergavenny Borough has announced that two major figures who have long term associations with the band have taken on new roles.

Chairman and Associate Conductor

Eb tuba player Terry Prosser becomes Band Chairman, with Alun F Williams appointed Associate Conductor.

Terry, who is a former member of Tredegar and BTM bands, will be assisted by his wife, Megan, who has also accepted the position as Band Secretary, with previous incumbent Andrew Richards moving into a fundraising capacity.

Alun F Williams, the well known former Head of Gwent Music Services, and newly appointed Chairman of the National Youth Brass Band of Wales, has worked with Abergavenny many times in the past.

Alun will now work in partnership with Musical Director Craig Roberts and Resident Conductor / Youth Band Musical Director, Lana Tingay.

Great delight

Craig Roberts told 4BR: “It's a great delight to welcome Alun to the team, and Terry and Meg Prosser's leadership has already proven invaluable to the organisation.

With an on-going influx of new players, a superb schedule lined up for the year ahead and now firm continuity at the helm thoughout, it promises to be an exciting year ahead for all.”
