Entry forms and details for the famous West of England Bandsman's Festival — more popularly known as as the 'Bugle Contest' — have been released by the organisers.
Village march
The event takes place in Cornwall on Saturday 20th June, with the band's making the traditional march along the village streets before performing in the open air contest.
The event attracts performers from all over the banding world, and with seven sections and a huge horde of prize winning silver wear on offer, including the famous Royal Trophy, it remains one of the great contest events of the banding calendar.
Music choices
The organisers have chosen an attractive selection of music for the set test pieces, designed to appeal to both competitors and listeners alike, with several of the works having connections to the Festival itself.
The adjudicator for the event is the experienced Derek Broadbent.
